Which Pulley Should I Choose?

Each pulley can be used in a lot of different ways. Below are a few example setups where each style is used so you can see it in action and decide what fits your rack, training style, and preferred cable ratio.

Single Side Pulley

Simple cable ratios, clean routing, easy-to-understand feel.

The Single Side Pulley is used in straightforward setups from the ISOLATOR Cam to the VTS or a trolley.

Example setups using the Single Side Pulley:

Double Side Pulley (Center Attached)

For future multi-path and ratio options where the pulley sits centered.

The Center Attached Double Side Pulley is designed for builds where you want the pulley centered. It will be used more in upcoming tutorials.

Example setups using this pulley are coming soon. In the meantime, you can still use it anywhere a centered double pulley is preferred in your custom builds.

Double Side Pulley (Side Attached)

Used in 1:2 ratio setups and multi-pulley routes where the bracket sits to the side.

The Side Attached Double Side Pulley is the main workhorse in 1:2 ratio builds and more complex cable routing. It can pair with a floating pulley to double cable travel, increasing felt load from the same plates.

Example setups using the Double Side Pulley (Side Attached):

Floating Pulley

Travels with the cable to change the ratio.

The Floating Pulley is what lets the cable move with the load for 1:2 style ratios and more advanced setups. It’s ideal when you want more load from the same weight plates or unique movement patterns.
