The Isolator Crossbow Cam is a high-performance resistance attachment engineered for serious strength athletes who outgrow traditional cable systems. Built to deliver maximum felt load and advanced resistance manipulation, the Crossbow Cam solves the fundamental problem of cable ratio loss by functioning as a smart, modular cam system that plugs directly into your Isolator weight arm.

Traditional cable setups—especially 2:1 ratios—cut your effective resistance in half, reducing tension, challenge, and growth potential. The Crossbow Cam restores that lost resistance without requiring an impractically large or expensive cam wheel. Instead of a full circular cam, it uses a partial cam profile that mimics the effect of a much larger cam in a compact, attachment-based design.

Maximum Tension Recovery

Restores resistance lost to cable ratios and delivers heavier, more direct tension ideal for rows, presses, curls, and extensions.

Manual Resistance Control

Manually adjust your starting position to manipulate the resistance profile—light-to-heavy, even throughout, or heavy-to-light—unlocking customization impossible with standard cams.

Hybrid Cable + Plate-Loaded Training

Uses the outside weight arm port to run plate-loaded, cable, or both simultaneously, creating a versatile training system not possible with standard setups.

Modular Plug-and-Play Design

Attaches directly to your Isolator without requiring oversized wheels or complex modifications—keeps your system efficient, adaptable, and scalable.

Built for lifters who demand maximum load, advanced resistance profiles, and training flexibility. The Crossbow Cam transforms your Isolator into a high-performance, cable-ratio–independent system.

Compatibility

The Crossbow Cam attaches to the Isolator weight arm system via the outside weight arm port and is designed for advanced cable-based training setups, including trolley and rack-based configurations.

  • Works with: Isolator Arm systems, trolley-mounted Isolator setups, rack-based Isolator installations, cable systems running 2:1 ratios or less
  • Cable attachment options: Ball pin attachment (quick changes) or bolt-on attachment (permanent, locked-in)
  • Hybrid capability: Supports both plate-loaded and cable resistance simultaneously via the outside weight arm port
  • Guide pulley mounting: Unlike the Isolator Cam, guide pulley brackets for the Crossbow Cam mount directly to the rack structure, not to the Isolator itself
The Crossbow Cam requires rack-mounted guide pulley brackets rather than isolator-mounted brackets. This design choice keeps the system structurally efficient and avoids the weight, cost, and complexity of a bracket large enough to span from the Isolator to the Crossbow Cam.
Product FAQs

Why is the Crossbow Cam better than a traditional large cam for 2:1 cable ratios?

Traditional cams designed to handle 2:1 ratios would need to be massive—like a wagon wheel—making them extremely heavy, expensive, and impractical to mount. The Crossbow Cam uses a smart partial cam profile that functions like the outer edge of a much larger cam, delivering the same resistance effect without the size, cost, or structural complications. It's a compact, modular attachment that plugs into your existing weight arm.

Can I adjust how the resistance feels during a movement with the Crossbow Cam?

Yes. The Crossbow Cam allows manual resistance profile manipulation by adjusting your starting position. You can set it to feel light at the beginning and progressively heavier, maintain even resistance throughout the movement, or create a heavy-to-light profile. This level of control is not possible with standard cams. Pair it with trolley adjustments and cable slack changes for even more customization.

Can I run both plate-loaded and cable resistance at the same time with the Crossbow Cam?

Yes. The Crossbow Cam uses the outside weight arm port, allowing you to run plate resistance, cable resistance, or both simultaneously. This hybrid capability creates training options not possible with standard cam systems.

How does the Crossbow Cam attach to my Isolator?

The Crossbow Cam plugs directly into the Isolator weight arm system via the outside weight arm port. You can choose between a ball pin attachment for quick and easy cable changes, or a bolt-on option for a more permanent, locked-in setup.

Do I need to buy special guide pulley brackets for the Crossbow Cam?

Yes. Unlike the Isolator Cam, guide pulley brackets for the Crossbow Cam mount to your rack structure, not directly to the Isolator. This design is necessary because a bracket spanning from the Isolator to the Crossbow Cam would be too heavy, too expensive, and structurally inefficient. Rack-mounted brackets keep the system strong, practical, and scalable.

What is the dual cam configuration and when would I use it?

You can run two Crossbow Cams together to create a setup that behaves very close to a full cam profile. This advanced configuration expands your range of resistance manipulation, creates more consistent tension through longer movements, and enables greater customization for complex training setups. It's designed for advanced users who want maximum flexibility.

Should I choose the Crossbow Cam or the Isolator Cam?

Choose the Crossbow Cam if you are a stronger lifter looking for maximum resistance, advanced resistance manipulation, cable ratio compensation, and the ability to mix plate + cable training. Choose the Isolator Cam if you prioritize portability, ease of use, lighter weight, and smooth movement patterns for weaker muscle groups. The Isolator Cam also features a built-in guide pulley system mounted directly to the Isolator, making setup simpler.
